Ungoat

Sorcerous Minion

A goat. But horrible. A sack of skin sliding along the floor like an ooze, boasting too many legs and not enough hooves, an erect phallus, a mossy smell, a malformed head spasming intermittently, horns pointing in different directions, three rows of grinding teeth, and a swollen, forked tongue. And those eyes. Those damn goat eyes.

An ungoat's main goal is to try and get into adventurers' packs and eat their magic reagents, archwood wands, and other sorcerous implements. It bleats piteously if attacked. An ungoat can't (or won't) do much to defend itself. If locked away, it always seems to escape somehow.

It might not be apparent, but an ungoat is related to an ooze.

Notes

  • Maleficent Retribution.

Any direct Wound inflicted on the ungoat causes the attacker to draw from a random maleficence table as the forces of chaos seep out of the injury.

    • Salt does not trigger this effect.
    • Non-direct attacks, like traps or Rube Goldberg devices, do not trigger this effect.
  • Salt Reactive.

If an adventurer has salt in hand, they can attempt to throw it onto an ungoat. This is treated as an Attack, and inflicts two Wounds to the ungoat on a success.

  • Smell Magic.

The ungoat can smell magical effects. It can identify who is and isn't a sorcerer by scent.

Lesser dooms

  • Rummage.

When the ungoat Roughhouses, they can pull an item out of the target's backpack. This item is dropped to the ground.

    • Adventurers can Recover dropped items.
    • The goat can pick up dropped items with any card.
