Dragon
Beast Elite
Dragons are enigmatic creatures. It's clear they're intelligent. They have been observed tunneling sections of the Underworld, designing and resetting traps, and hoarding treasures. However, nobody has successfully communicated with one. No one knows why they do what they do. What do they want?
Dragons are always terrifying creatures. Seeing a dragon for the first time is an awe-inspiring experience. The feeling of seeing a thing so alien in scale and scope, a thing so ancient; people call it "the dragonfear." Even veteran men-at-arms quail when this leftover from the deepest regions of time comes before them.
Its presence is an assault. Its smell is that of bat guano: a dry ammonia scent. It rumbles to itself, a sound like low thunder that you feel more than hear. Heat, like summer on an asphalt road, radiates from it.
From tip to tail, the thing is enormous, scaled, and grotesquely bulbous. When it moves, it undulates like a snake, even though it has four stout tree-like limbs. Horns arc from its snout, down its back, and end on its pendulous tail.
Then, you see its eye, covered in its nictitating membrane. The awful yellow, unlike any color you've seen before. Then the eye opens…

Notes
- Huge.
Practically speaking, dragons are so large they are immune to being Roughhoused, unless the adventurer has some way to affect a creature of giant size.
- Tough.
Actions that target the dragon must exceed (not just match) its Initiative.
Lesser dooms
- Claw.
On a successful Attack, if the dragon's total Attack value is double the Initiative of the target, deal 2 Wounds.
- Flight.
If they have enough space, the dragon can fly as a Move action. While flying, they lazily circle through the air. This keeps the dragon out of melee engagement, though they're still vulnerable to ranged weapons.
- While flying, the dragon can make a fly-by attack. On the same turn as it makes a fly-by attack, the dragon can be targeted by melee attacks. This does not cause the dragon to become engaged.
- Tail Whip.
The dragon's Attack targets all adventurers in its zone.
Greater dooms
- Armored Scales.
The dragon can play a greater doom card as their Initiative.
- Breath of Fire.
When the dragon Attacks, discard a greater doom card to breathe a gout of flame up to 1 zone away.
- If the Attack is successful against a target wearing metal armor, it deals Critical damage as the armor is super-heated to a deadly degree.
- If the Attack is successful against a target not wearing metal armor, it deals 3 Wounds.
- Overwhelming Bite.
The dragon can play a greater doom card as an Attack action. If successful, the target takes a Wound and is also either Disarmed or Tripped (GM's choice).
