Bloodybones

Sorcerous Minion

Most adventurers would assume that a bloodybones is a type of undead. It would stand to reason: a red skeleton, covered in blood, threaded together with a simple circulatory system. It looks like a bloody jellyfish sitting on top of a corpse.

It isn't undead, however. A bloodybones is a type of ooze—just in the shape of a skeleton. Perhaps the ooze once absorbed parts of an actual skeleton? Nobody's sure. They're speechless and unthinking. Bloodybones slorp through the Underworld, reaching out with sticky fingers to grab and grasp adventurers.

By all known metrics, a bloodybones is immortal. It is invulnerable to every type of harm. Weapons squish through them. Fire crackles harmlessly along them. Withering spells simply produce the unpleasant smell of burning garbage.

Luckily, they are very weak creatures. Each "bone" is like a condom full of spaghetti. They're soft and easily dealt with. Clever adventurers can stick them into iron maidens, push them into pits, or simply walk away from them at a brisk pace.
